Flooring for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Laundry Rooms: Compare the Actual Exposure

Compare flooring for kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms by actual exposure, product limits, tile options and project scope.

Describe how the room is used

Start with what the floor will encounter: routine spills, wet shoes, appliances, cleaning habits and the way the room connects to adjacent flooring. A kitchen and laundry room may have different needs even when you want a coordinated design. Share those details while comparing samples.

Distinguish everyday surface moisture from a leak or a subfloor problem. A flooring choice cannot establish that the whole room is waterproof. Have known conditions addressed before treating a product feature as the solution.

Read the selected product's limits

The Republic warranty for its specified SPC collections distinguishes covered surface exposure from excluded damage sources. Shaw's waterproof-laminate warranty also has product and condition limits. These documents support evaluating an exact product, not describing every vinyl or laminate floor as suitable for every wet location.

Ask whether the selected collection is permitted in the intended room, what perimeter or transition details its instructions require, and which cleaning practices are allowed. Keep the warranty and installation instructions with your quote so the recommendation can be checked.

Compare tile alongside plank options

It Is Finished Flooring provides ordinary tile-floor sales and installation as a regular service. Compare tile and wood-look tile with appropriate LVP or laminate selections when planning the look, layout and transition to adjoining rooms. Discuss the proposed floor assembly and preparation as part of the estimate.

A tile-floor project does not imply a shower, wall, pool or waterproofing service. Focus the discussion on the flooring work you need, the selected materials and the agreed installation scope.

Make the design and quote specific

Bring photographs of cabinets, adjoining surfaces and the room layout. Compare colors and patterns together so the custom design reflects your space. Ask how the layout and transitions affect the materials and installation work in the quote.

Explore our tile page and current product categories, then request the relevant estimate. Tampa showroom visits require an appointment. Product suitability and project conditions are confirmed during planning.
